IANN Monitor Release Notes – 6.3.3

Introduction

We are excited to introduce version 6.3.3 of our IANN Monitor product, packed with new features, enhancements, and bug fixes to optimize your monitoring experience

Here’s what’s new:

1. New Features:

  1. Enriched UI:
    Visual Redesign:
The new UI has been redesigned with a focus on usability and visualization, making it easier to monitor critical data at a glance.
Logo customization: We have the option to personalize their interface with their own logos
  1. System Health Dashboard:

Comprehensive Monitoring: This Landing page provides a holistic view of system health, including metrics for CPU usage, RAM consumption, network performance, and disk status. It also displays the status of key adapters and uptime of SI and Alerts.

  1. Overall Notifications for Teams and Slack

Stay informed with system-wide notifications delivered directly to Teams and Slack channels, ensuring you never miss critical updates. Notifications can be customized to include detailed insights, such as alert categories, severity levels, and timestamps, enabling teams to respond more effectively and efficiently.

  1. New Integrations with Notification Channel:

PagerDuty Integration: Streamlined integration for effective incident management.
Snow Integration: Improved support for Snow ecosystem integrations.
XMatters Integration: Enhanced notification and collaboration capabilities through XMatters.

  1. SAML / OKTA Integration:

Single Sign-On (SSO): Integration with SAML and OKTA enables seamless   single sign-on, reducing the need for multiple logins and enhancing security.
User Management: Administrators can manage user access more efficiently, ensuring that only authorized personnel can access critical applications.

  1. Download CSV Option:

This feature allows users to easily export data in CSV (Comma-Separated Values) format. By selecting the “Download CSV” option, users can export specific data sets or reports from the application for offline analysis.
  1. Filters and Grouping

Filter Enhancements: Improved filtering options for Table Graph, Alerts.
Group By with Filter: Support for grouping with filters across Bar, Gauge, and Text graph.

  1. Reminder Alerts

Stay focused on essential and high-priority notifications without being interrupted by reminder alerts. This functionality ensures that unresolved critical alerts are periodically re-sent through multiple channels, including email and other integrated platforms, ensuring important issues remain visible and actionable.

  1. Pause All Alerts Option

Temporarily pause all alerts when necessary for maintenance or troubleshooting. This feature allows users to resume alerts with a single click, ensuring that critical monitoring is not missed once operations are back to normal.

2. Enhancements:

  1. Infrastructure Upgrade:
Elasticsearch and Kibana 8.12 Support: The system has been upgraded to support the latest versions of Elasticsearch and Kibana, ensuring better performance, security, and access to the latest features.
  2. Updated IANN Monitor Client Agents:
Performance Improvements: If the client agents have been upgraded from version 6.1 to 6.2.0, then we are upgrading the Agents. If the client agents were already in 6.3.0 version, then upgrade of agents is not required.

Compatibility with Elasticsearch: The new agent version is fully compatible with the upgraded Elasticsearch, ensuring smooth operation without compatibility issues.

3. Known Constraints:

  1. Decimal Number Configuration: When configuring alerts using decimal numbers, they are considered whole numbers, affecting the accuracy of the alert.
  2. Warning Alerts Range: When configuring warning alerts with a range, the range value is exclusive. For example, setting an alert for the range 2 to 5 means that if the current value is exactly 2 or 5, no alert will be raised. Alerts are only triggered for values within the exclusive range (3, 4).

4. Imminent Updates:

  1. Alert Check Issue: When switching from a table graph to another graph type and back, the alert check may turn false. Users must visit the alert page to re-enable the alert check.
  2. Table Graph Filtering and Data Accuracy: In the table graph, filtering data with spaces and hyphens is problematic, and data points may not show exact values according to timestamps when data is collected every minute. This will be addressed in the next release.
  3. Table Graph Sorting: After sorting in the table graph, data may not revert to its original state, affecting data visibility.

Note:

  1. Line Graph Alerts: You can create several alerts in a line graph, but the graph will only display the first three alerts.
  2. Bytes Field Alerting: Alerts are fully supported for byte values, ensuring precise monitoring at the byte level. Support for MB or GB units can be considered for future enhancements.
  3. Download-CSV Timezone: In this release, the timezone for the downloaded CSV will be in UTC. Future enhancements will address this by supporting the browser timezone.
